We focus on two i nterrelated margins of career moves beyond the firm: moonlighting (freelan cing while employed) and entrepreneurship (leaving to found new ventures). Using LinkedIn-based career histories covering the top 500 U.S. employers of creative talent between 2010 and 2022\, we document three main finding s. First\, AI adoption reduces moonlighting by about one percentage point for a one-standard-deviation increase in AI intensity\, driven by higher r etention of existing staff. Second\, overall entrepreneurship is unchanged \, but AI-related ventures increase modestly\, suggesting that employees e xposed to AI within firms carry this experience into new business formatio n. Third\, the decline in freelancing is concentrated in firms and roles w here AI is directly embedded into creative functions\, particularly in pro duct-oriented applications. Together\, these results extend research on AI and labor markets beyond technical workers and show how the organizationa l locus of AI adoption shapes whether human capital is retained within fir ms or redeployed through independent careers.\n DTSTART:20231215T153000Z DTEND:20231215T170000Z LOCATION:Room 245\, Bronfman Building\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 1G5\, 1001 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Information Systems & BSRM joint Seminar: Yixuan Liu URL:/desautels/channels/event/information-systems-bsrm -joint-seminar-yixuan-liu-369777 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
