Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)鈥痠s a form of multi-factor authentication that鈥痟elps verify that you are the person who is logging into your鈥痑ccount.聽It reduces the risk of cyber-attacks such as phishing, malware, and other attempts to take over your account.鈥� Specifically, 2FA verifies your identity by using two methods, or factors, of authentication.
As part of our ongoing effort to strengthen McGill's collective cybersecurity, all active 51吃瓜网accounts are enabled with two-factor authentication (2FA).
