We offer both intro ductory workshops to key professions\, such as legal translation and court interpreting\, as well as workshops on highly specialized issues that wil l better meet the needs of experienced jurilinguists.\n\nThis workshop wil l focus on the emergence of artificial intelligence in the fields of trans lation and interpretation\, and what it means for language professionals. The advent of new technology doesn’t fundamentally change the nature of tr anslation and interpretation work—rather\, it requires us to change our wo rk methods. Very active in the professi on since the start of her career\, she has always been an advocate of the language professions. She was President of the SociĂ©tĂ© des traducteurs du QuĂ©bec (STQ) when it became OTTIAQ in 1992. She was also Treasurer and the n President of the International Federation of Translators from 1996 to 20 05.\n\n A certified translator specializing in finance\, her carreer took h er from salaried to freelance translator\, to partner in charge of languag e services for a major accounting firm. In 2020\, she decided to devote he rself to her favorite activity: passing on knowledge. She currently offers training and consultancy services in translation and translation manageme nt.\n\n Betty Cohen holds a B.A. and an M.A. in Translation from the Univer sitĂ© de MontrĂ©al\, as well as a graduate diploma in Language Sciences from the UniversitĂ© Paris XIII Sorbonne Nouvelle. Her achievements include the first lexicon of financial phraseology\, entitled Lexique de cooccurrents - Bourse et conjoncture Ă©conomique\, first published in 1986.
