DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\n\nAfter nearly a quarter century of active developme
 nt and widening adoption\, multidimensional optical spectroscopy has made 
 numerous contributions to the fundamental understanding of some aspects of
  chemistry. There remains\, however\, substantial potential to broaden the
  reach of these powerful spectroscopic methods by directing more attention
  towards chemical reactions. In this presentation\, I will introduce the c
 oncepts and methods of two-dimensional infrared spectroscopy from a molecu
 lar perspective\, focusing on the potential for new research directions in
  catalysis (i.e. photo-\, photoredox\, and electrocatalysis).\n\n \n\nBio:
 \n\nKevin Kubarych is a professor of Chemistry and Biomolecular Sciences a
 t University of Ottawa. He obtained his ScB in chemistry at Brown Universi
 ty (1996) and his PhD working on two-dimensional Raman spectroscopy at Uni
 versity of Toronto (2003). Following a postdoctoral fellowship at Ecole Po
 lytechnique\, Palaiseau\, France\, he had a 19-year career at University o
 f Michigan developing and applying two-dimensional infrared spectroscopy t
 o study a wide array of chemical phenomena ranging from biomolecular hydra
 tion and photocatalysis to electrochemistry and vibrational polaritons.\n
