捩娶棗款.泭Shawn Mativetsky has released RUDIMENTAAL, a collection of rudimental snare drum pieces inspired by the tabla drumming of North India. By bridging together two principal percussion instruments and their respective musical traditions, the book works as a gateway into North Indian drumming for drummers and percussionists from all backgrounds.

Currently a member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra,泭and泭the Ironwood Quartet,泭she also泭serves as co-Artistic Director of both the Ritornello and Classical Unbound泭chamber music festivals.泭Carissa泭performs on a泭Vuillaume泭violin on loan from the Canada泭Council Musical Instrument泭bank泭and officially started泭her new role at泭the Ottawa泭Chamberfest泭on泭August 17, 2020.泭

A large congratulations to Bo-rum Hammond (current MMus) and Jarred Dunn (current DMus), who have won first and second prize respectively in the University Graduate category of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers Association (CFMTA)s annual National Essay Competition! This competition invites submissions of essays on topics related to music teaching, pedagogy, or performance practice. Entries are judged by nationally recognized scholars in the fields of music pedagogy and performance and winning essays are published in the CFMTA magazine and website.
