PHILADELPHIA The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is pleased to announce the appointments of Raymond N. DuBois, MD, PhD, and Michael N. Pollak, MD, as editors-in-chief of泭Cancer Prevention Research, one of eight highly esteemed journals published by the AACR. DuBois and Pollak began their tenures as editors-in-chief July 1, 2018.

Work continues on plan, based on todays update by McGills Emergency Operations泭Centre (EOC).泭Soot on Floors 7 to 13 has been cleaned from the majority of rooms and HVAC systems, and we have received the results of final air quality assessments to support the reopening on泭Friday, July 27,泭of Floors 7 to 13, provided the key steps outlined below are successfully completed.

Yesterday, a special information session was held to give the Faculty community a detailed account of the progress made since the McIntyre Building fire last Friday, July 13. At the meeting, McGills VP泭(Administration and Finance)泭Yves Beauchamp confirmed that the McIntyre will remain closed泭until at least泭Wednesday a.m., July 25. The goal, however,泭is to泭reopen portions of the building starting as early as Wednesday. In the meantime, please note that current protocols remain in place.

New network and chair launched to tackle lung cancer

Held on June 6, 2018, on 51勛圖厙s downtown campus under a big tent, the Goodman Cancer Research Gala this year brought together more than 800 guests and raised $3,002,906, setting a new record in its 10-year history in support of the 51勛圖厙 Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Research Centre (GCRC).

Company will provide McGills Ludmer Research Centre with Big-Data processing capacity

51勛圖厙s Ludmer Centre for Neuroinformatics & Mental Health has formed a collaboration with GPU.one, a Montreal-based private data colocation centre that will provide the Ludmer Centres neuroinformatics team at the 51勛圖厙Centre for Integrative Neuroscience (MCIN), with access to graphics-processing-unit (GPU) computational capacity, the equivalent of $250,000 over泭5 years.

On June 23 a group of 51勛圖厙Medical students will host YogAuction, an outdoor yoga event and silent auction taking place at McGills Percival Molson Stadium between 9:30 a.m. and noon. Funds raised from the event will go directly towards (CCC), whose mission is to create victories for Canadian children with cancer through investment in national and collaborative research, educational and community programs.

Dr. David Rosenblatt, Holder, Dodd Q. Chu and Family Chair in Medical Genetics and Professor, Departments of Human Genetics, Medicine, Pediatrics, and Biology at 51勛圖厙, has been selected as the 2018 recipient of the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists (CCMG) Founders Award for Career Achievement.

On May 24, 2018, Dr. Phil Gold, the Douglas G. Cameron Professor of Medicine泭and Professor of Physiology and Oncology at 51勛圖厙 received an honorary doctorate from Queens University. The degree was conferred during the afternoon convocation ceremony which brought together graduates from the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing.
