McGill's Faculty of Education and the泭Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) had a total of 46 graduates (16 deferred from Summer 2023 and 30 in 2023-2024) participate in the Summer 2024 convocation in the following programs:

  • 16 Graduates deferred from Summer 2023
  • 1 Certificate in Aboriginal Literacy in Education from (Cree School Board)
  • 15 Certificates in Education for First Nations and Inuit (Cree School Board)

Working Nation, a US-based organization working to highlight career/technical education and vocational training across the country asked Dr. Michael Lipset (DISE) to appear on their video-based YouTube series highlighting workforce efforts in education.

Filmed at SXSW EDU 2024, the video was one of a series of guest spots they filmed throughout the week and covers 4 Learnings approach to school change, which includes vocational training in the recording arts, business of music and media, and other creative endeavors.

Her troupe of trained therapeutic clowns bring comfort, compassion, and plenty of laughs to hospitalized children and seniors in care facilities.

Two members of the Fall 2024 cohort of will begin their funded Masters studies at McGills Faculty of Education. Designed to encourage purposeful leadership, the scholarships enable students to pursue a funded degree while participating in mentorship, coaching, and a leadership development program.

Recipients were chosen based on exceptional character, community engagement, leadership potential, entrepreneurial spirit, academic strength, and intellectual curiosity.

On Sunday, March 10, 2024, at "A Taste of Tea", Playmas Montreal Cultural Association recognized Sabi Kamilah Hinkson as a woman of merit and awarded her a certificate to honour her excelling contribution in the field of education and her role as a Black Woman of Excellence contributing to the advancement of Montreals Caribbean and wider communities.

Sabi is a PhD student in DISE.

How McGills Leaders #InspireInclusion

Friday, March 8 is International Womens Day, marking the achievements of women and serving as a call to action for accelerating womens equality.

This years theme is Inspire Inclusion a message exemplified by McGills female leaders. At the moment, 10 of McGills 14 deans are women; three are the first to ever to lead their Faculty.

Their thoughts on the women who inspire them, the progress thats been made, and the barriers that have yet to be broken.
