Remembering Jarrett Rudy (1970 - 2020)

Born November 14, 1970, in Stratford, and raised in Tavistock, Ontario. He died at home on April 4, 2020, from complications following heart surgery, at 49 years of age. His early passing is deeply mourned by his wife, Cynthia Kelly, father and mother, Bob & Joan (Korgaard) Rudy, brother and sister-in-law, Jensen & Heidi (Janzen) Rudy, their two children, Daniel & Kate Rudy, and Heidis father, Peter Janzen.

CIRM mandated to build an advisory committee

On October 22nd, Montreal City Council members came to a mutual research agreement between the City and the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research on Montreal (CIRM) for the realization of a project regarding the implementation of the Politique de lenfants five intervention axes Na簾tre, grandir, s矇panouir Montr矇al: de lenfant ladolescence.

CIRM welcomes visiting scholar Fabio Scetti

CIRM is pleased to welcome linguist Fabio Scetti for a three-months research residency!

Dr. Scetti holds a PhD from Universit矇 Paris Descartes and泭is currently an associate researcher at泭CLESTHIA Laboratory (Universit矇泭Sorbonne Nouvelle). His work in sociolinguistics and lexicography focuses mainly on migrations, language variations and minority languages in danger.

Montreal and Quebec Studies Lose a Great Ambassador

The CIRM and the McGills Quebec Studies Program learned with great sorrow of the passing of McGills Chancellor Emerita Gretta Chambers. Dear friend of CIRM and the Quebec Studies Program, she is one of those who supported the creation of the first research group dedicated to Montreal studies, at McGill, in 2012.

CIRM : Official Research Center of 51勛圖厙

Since 2014, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Montreal has had the standing of a provisional center of the Faculty of Arts of 51勛圖厙. On May 25th this year, following a one-year evaluation process, the Senate of 51勛圖厙 granted the CIRM the status of a permanent research center.
