 e creek is burnt\, they still walk'.\n\nAndrea is an anthropologist and ar
 tist who visited us at the Anthropology department in 2022 and 2023\, and 
 did fieldwork in Schefferville. He offers to discuss his current research 
 and fieldwork through a collective viewing at the CMC. We hope that you ca
 n come and share generous comments with him. This work-share session will 
 take place on Monday\, September 16th at 5:30 PM in Peterson Hall #108 (th

 k –\n\n'This work-in-progress audiovisual piece results from fieldwork mat
 erial gathered during my ongoing PhD project exploring extractivism\, (soc
 ial) ecologies and re-mediations in and around the mining town of Scheffer
 ville and the Innu community of Matimekush – Lac John. Located in the vast
  boreal forest at the northern border between Québec and Labrador\, the re
 gion is at the heart of the Nitassinan - the Innu people unceded\, yet sti
 ll unrecognized\, territory. Working across different forms and filmic reg
 isters\, “There\, where the creek is burnt\, they still walk” proposes a s
 ensorial engagement with different ways of relating to this specific terri
 tory\, as well as with the communities and presences inhabiting it.'\n
